Strygoi.

As dark consumes light
That old eternal cycle
Bound are some creatures
To realms of nocturnal.

On a wind, gliding silent
A wisp of fear in flight
Drawn to a sleepy town
Safe, secure till the night.

The wraith is on a hunt
Be you lamb or sheep
Awaiting a sun's demise
For when you fall asleep.

Swathed in moonlit glow
Upon a rooftop perched
Once was a human soul
Now a creature of thirst.

He rests upon a chest
Softly rising and falling
Into a mind seeping
Prying open, searching.

Stealing thoughts
To weaken the will
Leaving a body
Primed for the kill.

He collects dreams
To empty your soul
He drains your blood
To possess you whole.
